Behind the Lens

Paul at Tangalooma capturing the coastline and wrecks

I’m Paul, the photographer behind Snappin Duck Shots, based on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast

I first picked up a camera after a knee injury kept me out of the surf. What began as a way to stay connected to the ocean quickly became an obsession.

I spent countless mornings chasing first light, evenings waiting for the perfect sunset, and many late nights learning every aspect of photography. Whether I was hiking to waterfalls in the middle of the night or floating in the ocean waiting for the perfect wave, I was always searching for moments that couldn't be repeated.

I realised that if I couldn't spend my life riding waves, I wanted to spend it capturing them for other people to enjoy.

Today, that same passion drives every photograph I create. Whether it’s the serenity of turtles in crystal clear water or waves ending their journey with a crash on our shores, my goal is to produce fine art prints that capture the beauty, power, and serenity of the ocean, bringing those moments into your home.

Every photograph is carefully edited and produced using premium archival materials, creating artwork designed to be enjoyed for years to come.
